Background:
These detailed Astronomical prints are from a late 1800s English atlas whose stated
objective was to provide a "useful Introduction to Astronomy" and to
"commend itself to the more advanced cultivators of the science". In
addition to general maps of the stars to use during night-time stargazing, other
prints provide details on other astronomical events such as eclipses, meteors, nebula and
paths of the planets.
