Background:
These Bird Egg prints are from the First Edition of Charles Bree's (1811-1866) Birds
of Europe - Not Observed in the British Isles. The series included prints of
both the Eggs as well as the Birds themselves. We also have online a selection of
the Songbird prints from Birds of Europe.
The printing of the plates was done in England
by Benjamin Fawcett (1808-1893).
