Background: These antique Bird Egg prints are from a young naturalist series on the nests and eggs of familiar birds authored by Henry Gardiner Adams.
In this series Adams presents an account of the "haunts and habits of the feathered architects, and their times and modes of building".
The color engraved plates were produced by the London firm of Groombridge and Sons in 1880.
