Background:
The prints shown here are from a portfolio of British Butterflies authored by the
minister and naturalist F. O. Morris. The Rev. Morris also wrote a number of other
texts on birds, nests, eggs, moths and the estates of the wealthy in England. Each
print portrays the Butterfly in adulthood, and some also show the caterpillar stage.
