Background:
This charming series of prints is based on illustrations by the British children's
illustrator and writer Kate Greenaway. They portray children's games, with their
accompanying chants and songs.
Greenaway, born in London in 1846, lived and
practiced her craft in the suburb of Frognal until her death in 1901. We also
feature on our site prints from another well-known Greenaway series The Language of Flowers.
So the next time the kids are asking you to buy
that new video game, why not encourage them to play "Puss in the Corner" or
"Frog in the Middle" as children from an earlier time did!
