Background:
The Christmas prints shown here are based on illustrations by the English children's
artist Margaret Tarrant (1888-1959). Tarrant is best known for her depiction of
fairy-like children and religious subjects which appeared in books, postcards and
calendars.
This series of prints accompanied a collection
of poems and stories celebrating the holidays.
