Background:

These charming prints are from a British "travel guide" and feature illustrations of scenes in Devonshire and surrounding areas.  The prints portray "cities, towns, public buildings, streets, docks, churches, antiquities, abbeys, picturesque scenery, castles, seats of the nobility, etc, etc".  The engravings are based on original drawings by Thomas Allom and William Henry Bartlett.
