Background:

These beautiful fruit prints are from a Swedish fruit growers reference manual published in 1912. The prints feature apples, pears, cherries and plums, and portray both the full and sectional view of each fruit. An interesting aspect of the prints is that the leaf structure is shown in the original "base color" of the chromolithographic plate while the actual fruit is shown in full color.  The prints are based on illustrations by the Swedish artist Henriette Sjoberg.
