Background:

This series of chromolithograph Fruit prints are are from reports published by the United States Department of Agriculture in the late 1800s through early 1900s. While the reports were very technical in nature, the accompanying color prints are very collectable. Most of the Fruit prints are based on illustrations by D. G. Passmore, who along with William Prestele, were frequent contributors to the reports.
