Background:
These original antique Mammal prints are from an early edition of
the French naturalist's Georges Buffon's (1707-1788) monumental work on Natural History
published between 1749 and 1789, The series included descriptions of Birds, Mammals
and Geology as well as other natural history subjects.
While the series was original published in
France, these prints are from an edition published in Spain in the late 1700s.
