Background:
The Mushroom prints shown on this page are based on illustrations by Charles Horton Peck
(1833-1917). Peck was an American mycologist and the New York State Botanist from
1867 to 1915. During his professional career Peck described over 2700 species of
North American fungi.
Both Edible and Poisonous Mushrooms are
presented in these prints. Each print identifies the variety of fungi, both by the Latin
and English names.
