Background:

This series of collector cards, titled the "Story of Pasta", was distributed by the German company Liebig, a manufacturer of meat extract in Europe.  Originally issued in 1872, Liebig distributed these cards for almost 100 years with their products.   The themes on the cards covered an enormous range of subjects.  The language of the text on the cards was dependent on the country in which the product was distributed.  In the case of this series, the text is in Italian.

Their subject matter and size make them ideal for display in the kitchen or eating area.
