Background:
These prints are from the American edition of The Poultry Book, originally
published in England. The book was a reference for breeders and strived to be
"the most unquestionably complete and comprehensive monograph on poultry ever
printed" (according to the Preface ). The illustrations, as well as the text,
was authored by Harrison Weir (1824-1906). Weir is best known for his natural
history illustrations. In additional to this series, we also feature Bird Nests by Weir dating from the late 1800s.
