Background:
These unique school posters were printed in the United States in the late
1930s. The posters taught children - particularly those of families who recently
immigrated to the States - about our culture, and good character
and citizenship traits.
Many of the posters identify the name of a
teacher, the school they taught at and the location of the school. The concepts for
the posters were submitted by these educators.
The period graphics shown on the posters are
representative of the designs of other published works from the 1930s.
