These delightful prints are from the First Edition of Flowers from Shakespeare'sGarden by Walter Crane (1845-1915). Cranewho established his reputation as anillustrator for children's "toy books"did this series in the early 1900s inwhich he portrays flowers referenced in Shakespearean plays in human form. It wassaid of his work "Crane was first and foremost a designer. His designs weresimple and bold and used only brightunmixed colors."
